The cosmetics market is heating up as COSMAX (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a global leader in beauty product manufacturing with over 600 brands from South Korea, invests more than 1.5 billion baht in a world-class OEM/ODM cosmetics production facility in Thailand. Spanning 35,995 square meters, the new factory will triple its production capacity, incorporating advance cosmetic manufacturing technologies to enhance efficiency and support the growing demand in both domestic and international markets.

Mr. Mingoo Kang, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of COSMAX (Thailand), emphasized that the beauty industry is experiencing rapid growth in Thailand and worldwide, driven by consumers’ increasing focus on personal care and the influence of social media, which encourages people to pay greater attention to beauty and personal appearance. According to Euromonitor, Thailand’s Beauty and Personal Care market is projected to reach 3.03 billion baht by 2025. The construction of COSMAX’s new factory marks a significant milestone in enhancing manufacturing capabilities to meet the demands of the fast-growing cosmetics market. It also strengthens Thailand’s position as ASEAN’s leading OEM/ODM beauty product manufacturing hub.

In 2024, COSMAX achieved a 65.4% growth rate, with an average five-year growth rate of 16.1%. Key factors behind this success include the increasing demand for cosmetics and the rise of new market players, such as influencers launching their own beauty brands and emerging cosmetics startups. Despite intensifying competition, COSMAX maintains its industry leadership through high-quality, standardized manufacturing processes and advance technology, ensuring product innovation that meets consumer needs.

COSMAX Thailand’s new 1.5 billion baht investment covers 35,995 square meters, including a 5,560-square-meter warehouse and a 30,435-square-meter production area. This expansion will triple the current production capacity, with construction expected to be completed by 2026. The new factory will play a crucial role in addressing the increasing demand in both domestic and international markets.

Mr. Mingoo Kang further highlighted that this expansion enables COSMAX Thailand to broaden its product offerings across all segments, including makeup, skincare, fragrances, and body care, catering to the continuously growing consumer demand. The factory will incorporate advanced smart technologies, such as Real-Time Management, SAP systems, robotics, and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), to enhance production efficiency and minimize human errors.

Additionally, the factory will adhere to global quality control standards, including ISO 22716, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001, and receive certifications from certifications from the FDA, Halal, and Vegan organizations, ensuring that every product meets the highest safety and quality standards.

Sustainability is a core focus of COSMAX Thailand. The new facility will feature localized ventilation systems with carbon filters to reduce VOCs emissions, smart wastewater treatment systems for water recycling, and renewable energy solutions, such as solar panels and energy-efficient LED lighting with intelligent sensors. The company is also committed to Zero Water Waste, reusing wastewater from production processes and promoting waste recycling to minimize environmental impact. Furthermore, COSMAX is dedicated to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policies to ensure long-term business sustainability.

Beyond environmental efforts, COSMAX is committed to giving back to society by supporting community development initiatives, including skills training and job creation for local workers near the factory to enhance their quality of life. The company also prioritizes employee health, safety, and welfare to ensure a positive and secure working environment.

The opening of COSMAX Thailand’s new cosmetics manufacturing facility will also boost the economy and employment, creating over 400 new jobs and supporting local businesses through the procurement of raw materials from domestic suppliers, thereby stimulating the local economy. This production expansion is not only designed to accommodate the fast-growing beauty market but also to provide a solid foundation for brands looking to develop their own cosmetics sustainably, positioning COSMAX Thailand at the forefront of 2025 beauty trends.
