Makro and Lotus’s operator reports continued digital growth as its mall transformation strategy helps lift occupancy
BANGKOK, Aug. 7, 2026 — CP AXTRA Public Company Limited (CPAXT), the operator of Makro and Lotus’s, reported total revenue of THB 268.33 billion for the first half of 2026, up 3.6% from a year earlier, driven by continued growth across its online and out-of-store sales channels.
Online sales through the Makro PRO platform and Lotus’s SMART App rose by more than 29% during the period, while out-of-store sales continued to expand, reflecting the growing role of digital channels in the company’s omnichannel retail strategy.
CP AXTRA also made further progress with its “Happy & Healthy Mall” strategy, which is aimed at transforming its shopping centres into lifestyle and wellness destinations for customers across generations. Mall occupancy improved, particularly at newly transformed locations, with occupancy rates rising by 4%.
The results highlight CP AXTRA’s efforts to bring together three key elements of its retail ecosystem — digital channels, physical stores and shopping mall spaces — to provide a more integrated customer experience.
Omnichannel Growth Remains a Priority
In the second half of 2026, CP AXTRA plans to continue expanding across multiple sales channels while accelerating the rollout of its Happy & Healthy Mall strategy.
The company expects the transformation of its mall portfolio to help attract more visitors, support tenant growth and strengthen revenue from its shopping centre business.
CP AXTRA also sees continued e-commerce growth, further investment in digital channels and retail technology, government stimulus measures and tourism promotion as key factors that could support its business in the second half of the year.
These factors are expected to benefit HoReCa customers — including hotels, restaurants and catering businesses — as well as small retail operators in both major and secondary cities.
“Our first half results reflect the resilience of our business, and our ability to adapt as market conditions change, giving us a solid foundation for continued growth,” said Tanin Buranamanit, Group Chief Executive Officer of CP AXTRA.
“We will build on that momentum through strategic investments in our businesses and technology, and by expanding our regional investments in markets with strong potential and robust economic growth.”
Buranamanit said these investments would help broaden the company’s customer base, reinforce its long-term business fundamentals and support its ambition to become ASEAN’s No. 1 technology-powered wholesale and retail operator.
Digital Channels Strengthen Retail Ecosystem
The 29% increase in online sales through Makro PRO and Lotus’s SMART App highlights the growing contribution of digital commerce to CP AXTRA’s broader retail ecosystem.
By connecting its online platforms with its physical store network and shopping mall spaces, the company is seeking to provide customers with a more seamless experience while creating additional opportunities for growth across its wholesale and retail businesses.
Further investment in retail technology is expected to remain a key part of the company’s strategy, alongside regional expansion into markets with strong economic growth potential.
The approach is designed to strengthen CP AXTRA’s ability to serve a diverse customer base, ranging from HoReCa businesses and small retailers to consumers across its Makro and Lotus’s operations.
Sustainability Remains Part of Long-Term Strategy
Alongside its business expansion, CP AXTRA continues to incorporate environmental, social and governance principles into its long-term growth strategy.
In the second quarter of 2026, the company ranked among the global top 5% in the Food & Staples Retailing industry group in S&P Global’s 2025 Corporate Sustainability Assessment.
CP AXTRA also received four awards at the Retail Asia Awards 2026, recognising its efforts to enhance customer experience and promote sustainable operations across its wholesale and retail businesses.
The company said its sustainability strategy is focused on creating long-term economic, environmental and social value, supported by strong corporate governance and engagement with customers, business partners, communities and other stakeholders.
With first-half revenue reaching THB 268.33 billion, CP AXTRA enters the second half of 2026 with a focus on expanding its omnichannel business, investing further in retail technology, transforming its shopping mall portfolio and pursuing regional growth opportunities.
